I love Frisell as well – I liked watching him reach over and tune right when I heard the flat open string, too, good to know I’m not deaf
The cool thing with Bill and Metheny’s solo playing is that they are not afraid to play simple but beautiful things because they’re not “jazz”. They both get such a great sound out the instrument as well and make great soundscapes – and use effects to do it, which is fine with me as I am far from a purist either!
